S205 Service Discontinuation (EoS) – FAQ

1. Why is the S205 service being discontinued?

The S205 model was officially discontinued in 2019, and several critical components used in the system are no longer being manufactured.
Remaining inventory has supported service until now, but all key parts are expected to be depleted around June 2027, making further technical support unsustainable.

2. When is the official service end date?

All technical support, maintenance, and repair services for the S205 will end on June 30, 2027.

3. Is the 18-month advance notice sufficient for customers?

Yes. Typical industry practice is 6–12 months of advance notice for end-of-service announcements.
JEDEX has provided a 18-month notice, giving customers ample time for budgeting, approval, equipment replacement, and internal planning.

4. Can JEDEX provide service after June 2027?

Support cannot be guaranteed.
Once the remaining parts inventory is exhausted, repair and maintenance will no longer be feasible.
If compatible parts remain in stock, JEDEX may review requests on a case-by-case basis, but no service obligation will apply.

5. Can the S205 continue to operate safely after the service ends?

It may continue operating; however, customers should be aware of the risks:

  • Inability to repair the system once a failure occurs

  • Potential production downtime

  • No SLA or guaranteed technical response

A planned replacement is strongly recommended.

6. What is the recommended replacement model?

JEDEX offers next-generation systems (S-series models) that fully replace or greatly extend the capabilities of the S205.
Customized model recommendations can be provided based on the customer’s application and process conditions.

7. Is there a trade-in or upgrade program?

Yes.
Current S205 users are eligible for a special trade-in program (limited period).
Details will be provided through your JEDEX account manager.

8. What actions should customers take before the service ends?

We recommend the following:

  • Begin evaluation and approval processes for a replacement system

  • Secure any remaining spare parts before inventory depletion

  • Align internal schedules for a smooth transition to a new system

9. Will documentation and manuals remain available after EoS?

Yes.
Technical documents, manuals, and reference materials will continue to be available upon request.
However, technical support and repair services will not be provided after the EoS date.

10. Can the S205 integrate with JEDEX’s latest solutions (SymmGun, Symm series)?

Direct integration is limited due to the S205’s legacy architecture.
Newer JEDEX models are designed for full compatibility with the latest particle-removal and inspection solutions.
